Momentum
born in the Philippines was quickly exported to sunny
Florida. Growing up in the sunshine state he was heavily
influenced by the early days of Hip-Hop and the late
surge in the 80’s of Miami Bass. His non-musical
career landed him in Virginia and in 1995 he started
to dabble in mixing.
For the next four years he started assembling a record
library rich in his influences and started to enquire
how these tunes were actually engineered. With that
question ever present in his head and his years of
practice behind the decks, in 2000 he started to explore
the world of producing.
It did not take long for the breaks industry to take
notice of his talent as The Eastern Breakz Movement
signed him. In a very short time he had produced a
full length album entitled “Music & Motion”.
This 19 track album showcased Momentum’s production
ability of earlier musical compositions but with his
own twist added.
In support of the 19 track album, Eastern Breakz Movement
released two vinyl EP’s. The Move EP & Club
EP got into the hands of club DJ’s across the
nation and break beat stations. It started to receive
airplay and fan demand for his tunes to be heard via
clubs and radio made the general music audience embrace
his musical talents.
“Music & Motion” is only the start
for this producer as he has moved forward to sign
with EMUOR. With projects lined up to work with classic
electronic producers, such as 2 Bad Mice and Jim Hopkins,
to having his remixes of HUGE mainstream artist Brittany
Spears played from Coast to Coast. Momentum will bring
a funky breaks sound that will not veer off to a dark
grunge sound but will always be vibrant and full of
energy.
